Can peptides help with chronic injury healing?
Research suggests certain peptides may support chronic injury healing through mechanisms like enhanced growth factor expression and reduced inflammation. BPC-157 has shown promise in preclinical models for musculoskeletal injuries including tendon ruptures, ligament tears, and muscle damage. One small human study found 7 of 12 participants with chronic knee pain experienced relief lasting over six months after treatment. However, most evidence comes from animal studies, and peptide therapies are not FDA-approved for injury treatment in humans.
